August Is Here — And So Is Everything You Have Been Waiting For 😁

August has a different energy to it. Maybe it's the fact that the year is more than halfway done and suddenly the goals you set in January feel urgent again. Maybe it's back to school season pulling at something in all of us — that familiar desire to learn something new, sharpen a skill, invest in what comes next.

Whatever brought you here today — whether you are exploring medical coding as a career for the first time, deep in study for your CPC exam, freshly certified and figuring out your next move, or an experienced coder looking to stay sharp — We want you to know that August at Cohens Coding and Consulting was built with every single one of you in mind.

Just Launched — and CPC Students Need to Hear About It

We want to tell you about something we've been building for a while now — something that came directly from watching students struggle with a very specific problem.

The problem is this: most CPC exam preparation is done alone. You buy a textbook. You watch videos. You grind through practice questions by yourself. And when you hit a wall — when you cannot figure out why your answers keep coming out wrong, or you cannot make sense of a sequencing guideline, or you just do not know what to focus on next — you stay stuck. Because there is nobody there to answer your question in real time.

That is the gap we built the CPC Exam Prep Lab to close.

The CPC Exam Prep Lab is a four-week live virtual program. One session per week. Led personally by an Instructor. Maximum 10 students per cohort — intentionally small because real learning requires real attention. Every session includes live Q&A so you can ask your questions and get answers from a credentialed instructor in real time, not days later in an email thread.

Here is what we cover across the four weeks:

•      Week 1 — Code Book Navigation and Time Strategy: How to move efficiently through your ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS books under exam time pressure. This is the foundation everything else builds on.

•      Week 2 — ICD-10-CM and Guidelines Drill Night: The diagnosis coding rules, sequencing guidelines, excludes notes, and combination codes that trip up students most on the actual exam.

•      Week 3 — CPT, Modifiers, E/M, and Surgery Sections: The most complex and most tested content on the CPC exam. We break it down step by step so it stops feeling overwhelming.

•      Week 4 — Mock Exam and Score Breakdown: A timed practice exam under real conditions followed by a detailed review of your results and a personalized plan for your remaining study time before exam day.

The first cohort begins August 11th. If you are studying for your CPC exam right now — whether you are enrolled in one of my classes or studying independently somewhere else — this Lab was built for you.
